The TPNW comprehensibly completely bans anything to do with nuclear weapons, it recognises the disproportionate impact of nuclear weapons on women’s human rights – indigenous communities and the environment. It is a litmus test for other issues for future MPs like the climate, migration issues and an anti-war stance. ICAN’s Parliamentarian Pledge aims to get every country to sign the TPNW.

You can engage with other ICAN partners in Scotland by emailing hello@nuclearban with a request to join the Scottish ICAN Roundtable group, and/or getting involved with one of the Scottish Partner Organisations. If you haven’t already done so, make sure you join Scottish CND via their website.

There is lots of information available on Scottish Partner Organisation and ICAN websites and don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions or suggestions.

One of the tasks that Scottish partner organisations take on is the monitoring of parliamentarian and council support for the TPNW across the UK.
Check out if your elected representatives at Holyrood and Westminster are signed up to ICAN’s Parliamentary Pledge, or if your Local Authority has passed a resolution.
