ELECTION CANDIDATES – NUCLEAR WEAPONS ARE A RED LINE

DONT VOTE FOR CANDIDATES WHO DON’T SUPPORT THE TPNW

Ask ‘if you are elected, will you would commit to signing the International Parliamentary Pledge to work for all Governments to join the United Nations Treaty on The Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons?’ This pledge is an important step towards a nuclear-weapon-free world and is supported by parliamentarians globally. Enter your postcode in the box below and click the “Submit” button to see a list of the Candidates in your Constituency and whether they are a Pledger or not.

You can engage with ICAN in Scotland by emailing hello@nuclearban with a request to join the Scottish ICAN Roundtable group, and/or getting involved with one of the Scottish Partner Organisations. If you haven’t already done so, make sure you join Scottish CND via their website.

There is lots of information available on Scottish Partner Organisation and ICAN websites and don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions or suggestions. Everyone can help with government monitoring (see below) and for the seriously committed there is the disarmament diplomacy route, this year focussed on the second meeting of state parties in New York (2MSP) in November.

  • Parliament Pledge & Cities Appeal

One of the tasks that Scottish partner organisations take on is the monitoring of parliamentarian and council support for the TPNW across the UK.
Check out if your elected representatives at Holyrood and Westminster are signed up to ICAN’s Parliamentary Pledge, or if your Local Authority has passed a resolution.
